Unit 4 Exam 2012 |
You have been given this years themes for your end of year examination. In class and individually we will discuss possible ways of approaching these starting points and how you are going to develop your ideas through to a final piece.
In the studio you will see examples of critical and textile work related to each of the exam questions, and these will give you ideas to discuss with staff during the 9 week prep period.
You will be encouraged to look at how textile art has developed in the last twenty years and to see textiles in its broadest sense. Try NOT to be daunted by the fact that this is an examination—the format is the same as your previous coursework projects and you should not be afraid to try new ideas and to stretch yourself.
Work created by: Charlotte Instone, Rebecca Ishaque, Natalie Hanson, Laura Beth Hewertson, Rebecca Hill, Abbie Lodge, Jontai Marie Smith, Keshia Harding Dickson, Jennie Duckett, Camilla Bebb, Laura Fletcher Derby and Leah Smith.
Unit 3 Portfolio 2011 |
Unit 3 is described by the exam board as a personal portfolio unit --- this means that within the 12 weeks allocated for this unit you will produce a range of critical, photographic, paper based and fabric based work related to a broad starting point. Your tutors will assess, give feedback and set targets at regular intervals throughout the 12 week period – it is envisaged that you will produce a final outcome and an essay – both related to your theme.
During the summer you will have had the opportunity to produce a well presented critical journal – with your initial notes AND your photographic work based on a broad, open ended theme. This 'overarching' theme allows you to produce a range of work inspired by your starting point.
