Urban 2011

We will visit Liverpool on a research trip and gather photographs of both the new and older parts of the city to show regeneration, environment and city culture. This will allow you to develop these images into ideas for your graphic outcomes. You must gather photographs and drawings for all four of these ideas.

1. Liverpool Council has asked you to promote a cultural event that you may choose in the city of Liverpool. Design a range of billboard posters or a web page.

2. You will design materials to go into a promotional pack advertising 'Urban Living' a new development for housing, working and living space, aimed at young professionals in the city.

3. Tate Liverpool is holding an exhibition titled 'Urban Decay'. Produce advertising to promote the exhibition to schools as part of their educational learning programme.

4. Design packaging and promotional material for a new fragrance "Urban spirit" for young men or women

Intro to Graphics 2011

You will visually comunicate and promote the subject of Graphic design.
You will achieve this by making an investigation into the literal technical processes and imagery commonly associated with Graphic design (pencils, brushes, typefaces, computers), and by a development of abstract concepts and visual metaphors (highlighted below).
The final imagery that you produce will be a poster or flyer that asks WHAT IS GRAPHIC DESIGN?
